Offer
Questions
Take-home 6
On the HappyRobot platform, build an inbound carrier-sales voice agent that verifies a carrier's MC number against the FMCSA API.
Freight-brokerage scenario; README title says FDE interview, body says Solutions Engineer; author reports an offer.
Have the agent search and match available loads to the caller and pitch the best fit.
Implement automated rate negotiation with the carrier, capped at three rounds.
Classify each call's outcome and caller sentiment and extract key call data for reporting.
Build and deploy a backend API the agent calls (carrier check, loads, call logging), containerised and live on a cloud host with API-key auth.
Both repos use FastAPI + Docker; one on Google Cloud Run, one on Railway-style hosting.
Build a metrics dashboard showing call outcomes, transcripts, negotiation results and success rates.
Presentation 1
Submit documentation, a short (about 5-minute) demo video, and a client-ready presentation of the solution.
Tips from the sources
- A candidate who received an offer chose speed over polish (an HTML dashboard served from the API instead of a separate React app) to avoid stretching the process. [2]
- Write deployment docs so reviewers can run your solution; successful repos include Docker setup and a deployment guide. [2]
- The freight scenario depends on the public FMCSA carrier lookup for MC-number verification; get that integration working first, since later steps depend on it. [3]
- Postings require full-stack React/TypeScript/Node plus Python and hands-on LLM prompting and voice/transcriber tuning; expect these in the technical stage. [4]
Not found in public sources: Employer-stated process is from a January 2025 YC posting; current Ashby postings describe none. Candidate accounts of a longer 2026 loop (phone screen, take-home, system design, sales interview, engineering interview, founders) exist only on Glassdoor and were excluded. No sourced questions for the system-design, team, or founder rounds, and nothing specific to Deployment Strategist interviews. A techinterview.org guide exists but openly reconstructs the loop and its questions, so none were used. Whether the take-home is paid, timed, or waived is undocumented.
